On the set of The Originals!!!!

Ok, so we had the pleasure of going to the set of The Originals.  My brother-in-law, Bart, and his fiancé, Ashley, are writers for the show so they gave us a tour.  First, we went to the set where they were filming a flash back scene at a cemetery.  We watched on the monitors as they filmed a scene over and over haha.  I could've been there all day!  The scene was between the very talented, Joseph Morgan, and a few new actors to the show.  It was so cool to see the way everything was set up and the many people that take part in this process.  We walked around met some cool people, went to the snack table (probably the girl's favorite part) and finally, before leaving, met Joseph Morgan. I basically died.  He was so sweet and charming!! He came out to say hi to us, introduced himself and said he was embarrassed by his costume (he looked perfect!) I will forever regret not taking a picture with him though :(

Me with my soon to be Sister-in-law.  She's the sweetest!
After meeting Joseph I was pretty much done with everything, I was in such a high.  The next stop was the production offices where they have all the sets.  We saw their offices, met some people, and saw all the cool sets

New Orleans and the Mikaelson compound

More of the compound and the courtyard

The details of every room were pretty amazing

I poured everyone a drink, lol, it was apple juice

Cami's apartment and Hayley's  room (that's me in Hayley's  tub)

More cool details, and my kid looking around

A Klaus original painting, my daughter singing in a jazz club, and goofing around in front of a fake double mirror.

Marcel's loft,  some fake blood on the floor and me

We then went to check out the bayou and the cemetery.

Jason Dohring!!!!!

What a great day!  It was so much fun to see how everything is done and how much work goes into putting together the show. After getting something to eat, we drove over to Covington to check out The Mystic Grill.  The mystic grill is from The Vampire Diaries.  They don't film there anymore, but they did at first. We had some drinks there and walked around the town square. It is such a cute town and if you watch the show, you'll recognize the clock tower and the surroundings.

Atlanta Trip

It's been a few years since I've posted anything here, but we recently took a pretty awesome trip to Atlanta and I had to share everything.  My brother-in-law and his fiancé live in California but travel to Atlanta for work, so we drove down to visit.  We stayed at the beautiful Twelve Hotel at Atlantic Station. We had a very cool view from our room.

On our first day there we went to The World of Coca Cola.  We're not huge soda fans, but decided to check it out anyway.  It was pretty cool to see the history of Coca Cola and the girls really enjoyed the 4D show.

It was really HOT there, just walking around looking for a place to eat was awful.  We decided to eat at Baja, a Mexican place.  The food was delicious.  We went back to the hotel and went in the pool and just hung out and played Jenga.

The next two days, we went on a tour of my brother-in-law's work.  His fiancé and him are writers for the CW's The Originals.  That experience was amazing so I will write about it in a different post.  We also went to visit different places where The Walking Dead has filmed, which I will also write about in another post.  Over all it was a great few days, the places we visited and the people we met were great.  I can't wait to visit again!
